New biodegradable composites from starch and fibers of the babassu coconut

چکیده

This work aimed to obtain thermoplastic starch composites (TPS) derived from and fibers of babassu coconut. The was prepared with 40% plasticizer (glycerol). underwent chemical treatment alkalinization bleaching. SEM images infrared spectra showed that wax, lignin, hemicellulose were removed the fiber surface. TPS a smooth uniform surface, whereas TPSWF composite (washed fiber) voids between TPS. phenomenon not observed in TPSAF (alkalized TPSBF (bleached fiber). tensile strength elastic modulus higher than pure matrix. Concerning elongation, less elongation mechanical properties found for do differ. However, better other composites.
